Tankleff will not have to face new trial

State Attorney General Andrew Cuomo announced yesterday he would not retry Martin Tankleff, falling short of fully exonerating him in the gruesome slayings of his mother and father 20 years ago.
In a motion filed yesterday, Cuomo's office said that while there remains "some evidence" that Tankleff, 36, killed Arlene and Seymour Tankleff in their Belle Terre home in 1988, it "is insufficient to conclude or to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that he did so."
